Pride Month History & Celebrations
Why is Pride Month celebrated in June? This month was chosen to commemorate and honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. Around the globe, people celebrate through parades, picnics, parties and many more events to raise awareness and show the impact this community has made on the world. While the Pride Parade in New York City is among the largest of events, there are plenty of events happening near you, including Orioles LGBTQ Pride Night and Rainbow Lot!
